it's funny how Slayer got shit for releasing such a 'slow' album right after RIB, and meanwhile Dave's like, 'oh, hey, doesn't matter what tempos y'all wanna play at, I'll just be over here laying down one of the most iconic drum performances ever- over the entire album' lol
We have a lot of drumfills many years of practice thank gene hoglan for teach him in the beginning when you was a drums technicians created a monster of drums
Beautiful. Perfect song to watch Dave on, what a drum God. A little surprised to see cymbals close mic'd with condensers maybe someone can educate me on that. That doesn't even make sense in a studio isolated drum room let alone live on stage.
Lombardo, like many (most?) rock drummers, grew up listening to and idolizing Led Zeppelin's John Bonham. And like many drummers before and since, he tried to incorporate Bonham's feeling into this playing. But unlike many others, Lombardo succeeded. He's got to be the best of them all. Many other drummers play with more precision but their playing is lifeless and sterile (e.g. Shawn Drover). That's NOT a thing anyone can say about Lombardo.
The drums on South Of Heaven were so prominent in the mix compared to their other albums. Really made Dave’s kit sound massive. ‘Ghosts Of War’ is definitely one of my favorites off that album.
He’s the best in my opinion, every single Slayer fan I know they loved Slayer because of his drumming, they really messed up letting him go someone with that talent is just not the same without him
Dave Lombardo is definitely my fave, but Holy shit the intro to Killing fields. If I had to replace Dave, I'd want someone coming out of the gate like that.
You really get the sense that Dave truly loves drumming. At his age it could have just been a job to him. But there's passion there, enjoyment of his craft.
Hes the best hands dowm period. Hes jus a freaking machine. ! His fills are so fast and yet so perfect solid and precise. Nobody has his talent on drums period

Lombardo is the lord of drums
I've seen him playing for suicidal Tendencies too he was killing it over there too.
Hes stuff are so fun to play, not easy tho.

You have to admire how brilliant Dave is

Lars is better
A drummer better than his band.
The thrash master, nobody does it better.
Oh man. I want to see him play the whole song.
SLAYER OWES THIS MAN MILLIONS!! STRAIGHT UP!!!
FUCKIN LEGEND
Dave Lombardo doing a scene from “The Miracle Worker (1962)”

Muito grato ao Dave Lombardo pela contribuição ao Rock... 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Great drummer. Playing to a track though.
Dave and Jeff were the main reasons Slayer was so fucking huge.
Imagine if Dave was a part of Death?
Nadie, nadie es más completo que el Sr Dave Lombardo. El mejor de la historia
Jon dette
His ride is so signature to him. Love it when he goes to it.
This and "Read Between the Lies" has got to be their must underrated songs.
I think this song is properly rated.... by people like us that KNOW!
No lack of Lombardo lovers in the comment section LOL.
Not bad. Almost as good as Lars.
Lars declined years ago

Anyone who thinks that Gene Hoglan or any other thrash drummer is as good as or better than Dave is delusional. Charlie Benante comes closest.
DAVE MAKES THAT LITTLE KIT JUMP. LOVE HIS STYLE
AMAZING
Lombardo is one of my most influential drummers ever.
Crackkkk!!!!
He’s the best in my opinion, every single Slayer fan I know they loved Slayer because of his drumming, they really messed up letting him go someone with that talent is just not the same without him
Who's better?

End was cut that's the best part
The man is not human....
If there is a drummer better than Bohnam it’s this dude.

Seasons south of heaven my favorite albums. Lombardo is a machine . Precision fills and fuck so fast . Jus best drummer
Fastest double bass at the time, along with Charlie

Lombardo is the best!! Forgotten drummer!
He plays the drums, like he really mean it. 🤘
Lars is worthy enough to pick up Dave's sticks off the floor 🤣🤣🤣👊🤘
Lars sold his ass to bob rock
Its a God.
